The Hilton Grand Vacations Club (HGVC) concept establishes a distinctive new niche in the vacation ownership industry by incorporating a spectacular urban setting and a collection of high-end services tailored for members only. The growing popularity of Las Vegas as a travel destination has prompted HGVC to develop a second Hilton Grand Vacations Club resort in the heart of this dynamic community. Located at the north end of the strip, this ten-acre site is anticipated as Hilton Grand Vacations Club’s Flagship property. Meléndrez was selected as the landscape architect, charged with master planning and designing resort amenities for the first of four phases that would be sure to make this resort a sought after destination.
Meléndrez designers worked hand-in-hand with the building architects to ensure that the timeless “Desert Deco” theme was woven from the resort’s interior spaces seamlessly into the outdoor environment. Meléndrez created lush landscape architecture elements that complement and enhance the lobby core, the southeast tower, the arrival/drop-off, and entry streetscape. The southern amenity area contains a swimming pool and spa, and lends to the resort’s overall sense of place.
At full completion, the project will encompass four 300-unit towers connected by a two-story central core enclosing the lobby and indoor functions. Shortly after its opening, Phase I is a success. The Hilton Grand Vacations Club and the design team have set the bar high for future phases of the project.
