Last night Meléndrez hosted an Engage! event as part of the USC Guild series. We were pleased to be the first Landscape Architecture firm to host the event!

The mixer included professionals from all disciplines within the Architecture/Engineer/Construction industry, providing a great opportunity to exchange and generate ideas. Meléndrez Principal Scott Baker gave a short presentation on the latest work underway and recently completed in our studio, including: our streetscape and mixed-use development work shaping Downtown Los Angeles; Ivy Station, a transit-oriented development in Culver City organized around an urban park; the Green TI plan which examines decommissioning a one-mile stretch of the Terminal Island Freeway in Long Beach, transforming it into a local-serving green space at a regional scale; and Space 134, a twenty-seven acre cap park over the 134 Freeway in Glendale. The presentation stimulated excited questions from the audience and a great dialogue on design and urban transformation.
