MELÉNDREZ ATTENDS TRANSIT ORIENTED LA 2015, HOSTED BY ULI

December 10, 2015

In case you missed our live Twitter feed from the event, Meléndrez attended the annual ULI Transit Oriented Los Angeles today. Panels with a wide range of speaker viewpoints, knowledge and perspectives created a dynamic and insightful event. Ways to revitalize communities through transit, and lessons learned with case study examples provided insight into the benefits of transit-oriented development and design and how to continue to create these opportunities in Los Angeles.

Meléndrez’s project, Ivy Station, was featured by Tom Wulf of Lowe Enterprises in the case studies panel. The project is developing a parcel adjacent to the Expo Line in Culver City, including a 1 acre public open space that we are designing. Other topics included high speed rail, density, what communities expect from transit, placemaking, Metro’s new Office of Extraordinary Innovation, and creatively combining funding to get projects to pencil.
